Family Identify One of The Bodies Found in River Yala as Their Son

One of the over 20 bodies found dumped at Yala River has positively been identified as that of 37-year-old Philemon Cheruiyot Chepkwony.

Young Cheruiyot is said to have gone missing on December 2, 2021 – and had not been traced despite numerous suches in morgues and hospitals.

The body was positively identified by his family members who visited Yala Sub County hospital – where the bodies are currently preserved.

According to sources who spoke to Mwanahabari, Cheruiyot went missing alongside three other people. The body of one his friend’s was also found at the same morgue after being fished out of the River Yala waters.
