An aircraft has crashed at Vuria Hills in Taita Taveta County killing all three occupants.
The incident was reported at around 8.00pm, May 31, by villagers living around Vuria hills.
According to the locals, an aircraft was heard approaching the hills which were covered with fog before a loud bang was heard followed by silence.
The Area Chief and his Assistant accompanied by Police officers have moved to the scene.
The Vuria is the highest point in Kenya’s Coastal region and part of a flight path from Arusha to Mombasa.
The Cessna aircraft reportedly had three passengers on board.
This comes just a day after a chopper; Bell 407 registration 5Y-PSM, that had flown ODM leader Raila Odinga to a function in Gem, Siaya County crashed. The incident happened on Sunday, May 30.
The chopper is said to have crash-landed due to bad weather.
According to Raila’s spokesperson Dennis Onyango, no one was injured in the incident.
