A sombre mood has engulfed residents of Kambi ya moto village in Likuyani constituency, Kakamega county after a man slashed his wife before hanging himself.
Fred Kasamba 35, slashed his wife with a machete at night leaving her for dead – and then proceeded to hang himself.
Kasamba’s neighbour who identified himself as Francis Musululu, told the media that he heard the couple quarreling on the fateful night.
Musulu said: “I went to their house to find out what was happening, only to find his wife’s body lying on the floor.”
“She had deep wounds on her head, back and the leg area. The husband was hanging from the roof in the bedroom,” he added.
Area assistant chief Moses Okumu confirmed the incident – and urged couples to solve their differences diplomatically to avoid such incidents.
“The wife was rushed to Matunda hospital where she is on treatment,” noted Okumu.
“Whenever you are facing differences, try solving issues peacefully, in a civilized manner,” urged
