Class 7 Pupil and Two High School Students Arrested For Murder

Three students are being detained by police officers in Kakamega on suspicion of murdering their uncle.

The three, including a Class 7, a Form 2 and a Form 3, are alleged to have committed the atrocity at night before dumping the deceased’s body by the road side.

According to eyewitnesses, the three attacked and abducted their uncle while he was attending a burial ceremony accusing him of stealing their phone.

“The three left with him accusing him of breaking their door and stealing their phone,” said Leonida Keya, the deceased wife.

“His body was later found this morning by the roadside. It had deep injuries on the head suspected to have been instilled by a blunt object,” he added.

Emakusi Assistant chief Alex Mutende confirmed the incidence linking “disco matanga” ceremony as the root of this cases.

“Not all attending disco matanga have good intentions, to some it’s a breeding place for illegal activities such as drug sellings”, he said.

The incidence was highly condemned by locals linking the perpetrators to a series of misdemeanors.

“They have been involved in robberies, they have been spotted severely possessing illegal drugs,” said one resident.
