Kenyans using Safaricom products and services will have to endure 10 hours without certain services as the company seeks to carry out maintenance activities.
Safaricom PLC have made the announcement indicating that the maintenance will run from Saturday, August 21, around 10pm to Sunday, August 22, 8am.
According to Safaricom, the products to be affected include; all products purchases, balance enquiry, Okoa Jahazi, Tunukiwa, all Bonga Points services, postpaid payment, and home fibre payment.
Safaricom has, however, indicated that the maintenance will not affect services like calls, data, M-Pesa, and SMS.
Kenyans have began scratching their heads following the announcement that is likely to affect their businesses.
It is, however, refreshing that Safaricom has made the announcement two days before the announcement to allow businesses and individuals who rely on he services to make proper arrangements to avoid disruptions and losses.
The planned maintenance will run at night – when most Kenyans are at home (10pm) which means not many will be affected.
The giant telecommunication company has been improving their products and services in the recent past, with the introduction of M-Pesa Super App in June to enhance user experience on the money transfer platform.
Other products that were recently launched include a robust M-PESA for Business App and the 5G technology.
