Ngilu Admitted in Nairobi Hospital, Sends Message to Kenyans

Reports indicate that Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has been admitted at the Nairobi hospital after allegedly contracting Covid-19.

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua confirmed the report during a public meeting held on Tuesday, July 27, at Royal Media Services Owner SK Macharia’s home to celebrate the achievements made in the music industry.

According to Mutua, Ngilu had asked her to disclose her health status – and urged Kenyans to guard themselves when interacting in public.

Ngilu also asked the governor to deliver her apologies for missing the event graced by ODM Leader Raila Odinga.

He ho did not disclose how Ngilu was fairing in the hospital but urged the public to ensure they guard themselves against the pandemic.

Ngilu has of the late been pushing to arbitrate a truce between Raila Odinga and other Nasa principals among them Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

She is the second governor elected for Kitui County, and had unsuccessfully vied to be President of the Republic of Kenya in 1997. She also served as Minister for Health from 2003 until 2007 and Minister of Water and Irrigation from April 2008 to 2013.
