2020 KCSE Students to Know University Choices

Students who applied to join universities after sitting the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) will know which institution they will be joining in August.

The announcement came just weeks after it emerged that thousands of students who sat for KCSE in 2020 did not want to join the university despite qualifying.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) issued a statement to newsrooms on Sunday, July 25 announcing when the date when the results will be made available.

The statement read: “We are keen on concluding the process and releasing the outcome to all applicants by mid August, 2021,” said Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome, the KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer.

“A total of 4,359 candidates took advantage of the extension and revised their degree choices. In total, over 90 % of all candidates who qualified for degree courses applied,” read the statement.

“Since May 24, 2021, KUCCPS has been rallying all the 2020 KCSE examination candidates to apply for placement to universities and colleges for sponsorship in artisan, certificate, diploma or degree courses of their choice.”

Also, secondary school graduates who had any mean grade from the year 2000 to 2020 were also targeted for placement and sponsorship into the government institutions.
