Missing Kenyan Keegan Oyugi Found Dead in US

The body of Kenyan Keegan Oyugi who has been missing in US has been found.

Keegan, who played basketball, was reported missing in Minnesota, USA, more than two weeks ago.

According to the police, the 26-year-old Kenyan disappeared on June 12.

His body was found inside his car – in what the police have described as a single-impact accident.

The vehicle was reportedly lying upside down having rammed a tree. Keegan’s body was found inside the car.

His last contact with the family was on June 12 at around 4.00am.

Heading back home

According to the Minnetrista Public Safety Department, the accident is believed to have happened as Keegan was heading back to his home in St. Bonifacius after leaving the Prior Lake/Savage area.

It is not yet clear why police were unable to notice the vehicle given it took days to locate the vehicle and the body.

Keegan previously played for Kenya Ports Authority before moving to the US where he played basketball for Crown College from 2017.

At the time of his death, Keegan was planning to play professionally in Kenya.

Police are conducting investigations into the death.
